KMU Innovativ Project:

Development of an innovative and highly efficient process for the interruption-free and fully automated filtration of particulate solids from water on the basis of spherical filter media and with application focus on aquaristics; partial project: material-oriented process design

Duration:

01.10.2018 - 31.03.2021

Project partners:

Abtract:

The SpheroFilt project aims to develop a patented process for the mechanical filtration of particulate solids from water. The concept is characterized by a fully automated and highly concentrated removal of the filter cake from the separation zone and at the same time an uninterrupted filter operation. On the one hand, the previously unachievable combination of depth filtration and cross-flow principle, on the other hand, an application as a granular surface filter with significantly increased permeate yield is possible. The application, which is based on the use of circulating glass beads, combines the advantages of both flow regimes and filtration principles while avoiding their disadvantages.
